Botesdale has an interesting network of well maintained public footpaths. The majority of the Botesdale footpaths lie to the South of the village. The Parish Councils of Botesdale and Rickinghall have jointly produced guides to the local public paths:

This is a new map, produced at the end of 2016, and it provides three circular walks of 1 hour (2.75 miles), 2 hours (5.5 miles) and 3 hours (9.5 miles). The long walk is a slightly shorter variation of St Botolph's Way.
If you experience a problem wih a public footpath in Botesdale, pleaseĀ email the Parish Clerk.
The Suffolk County Council website has more information about a wide range of issues relating to the County's Public Footpaths and is well worth a visit, if only just to browse.
